Nora Dokei (Clock)
In the mid-Meiji period when there were no clocks at home, Genma Hatanaka, a landowner, completed the clock tower by hand, making everything from the gears to the weights.
The clock tower, standing in the middle of rice paddies as a symbol to tell the time, still remains as one of Aki's representative landscapes.
